After years of steady decline, the youth shooting sports are growing across the country -- thanks in large part to the emergence of organizations focused on supporting the future of the sport. 3RSSA has worked closely with many of these organizations over the past decade to access and leverage their expertise and resources for their own teams. Below are some of those resources that we encourage teams to explore or ask us about.
Team Resources
MidwayUSA Foundation
The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow youth shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams through annual cash grants.
ACUI Clay Targets
ACUI has partnered with SCTP to be the lead organizer of collegiate clay target shooting in the nation. Holding regional matches and the national event in San Antonio, TX, ACUI has over 100 schools and over 1,000 athletes competing head to head.
Pennsylvania Youth
Shooting Association
The PA Youth Shooting Association Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to expanding and enhancing youth shooting sports to foster confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership. Its mission is to raise funds for individuals and teams, support coaching and instructor training, and ensure effective supervision and instruction in youth shooting sports.
Find a team or start a youth team with SCTP. This national organization provides kids from elementary through high school and college with the opportunity to participate in all clay target sports and is the official feeder program to USA Shooting. Teams can attend and organize shoulder-to-shoulder competitions through SCTP.
National Skeet
Shooting Association & National Sporting Clays Association
The sanctioning bodies for American Skeet and Sporting Clays, NSSA & NSCA organize registered competitions, provide instructor and referee certification, and have youth category and shooting events in your region.
USA Clay Target League
The USA Clay Target League is a nonprofit corporation and national independent provider of clay target shooting sports to secondary and postsecondary schools. With 60 HS teams in PA, their virtual shoots and tournaments provide a way for teams to complement their travel competitions. The League’s priorities are safety, fun, and marksmanship – in that order.
